Deep ruby red in color, with a nose of raspberries, spices, vanilla and a hint of violet. Rich and complex with well-blended tannins, showing flavors of jammy red fruit with a touch of vanilla and developing earthy notes and hints of truffles.
Serve with duck with red fruit sauce, lamb shoulder, wild boar stew, and chocolate cake.

Based on 60% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre, and 15% Syrah, the 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape Grande Réserve is impressive, and while it has the forward, charming style of the vintage, it brings solid depth and richness. Black raspberries, darker cherries, leather, and Provençal garrigue notes all flow to a medium-bodied, balanced, nicely textured, concentrated 2023 that has ripe tannins and good length on the finish. It should shine right out of the gate.
