Domenico Clerico Barolo 2015
New oak adds a touch of vanilla and another layer of tannins to this intense red, making it a bit more severe in its youth. Plum, cherry, tar, tobacco and floral top notes mingle with tree bark and iron accents as this evolves through the dense, dusty finish. Best from 2024 through 2039. 1,800 cases made, 400 cases imported. - BS
The 2015 Barolo is laced with crushed flowers, dried cherry, cedar, spice and tobacco, Soft and open-knit, the 2015 is an attractive, easygoing Barolo to drink now and over the next handful of years. Sweet red cherry, spice cake, leather, cedar and tobacco add shades of aromatic nuance, but above all else, the straight Barolo is a near-term drinker.
