The nose is ripe and fruity with luscious peach, dried apricot, and tropical fruits. Hints of orange blossom and vanilla fudge. Flavors of vanilla sweetness, granola, toasted almonds and honey, a little oak, digestive biscuits, apricots, and a hint of coca. A long lingering finish with a light maltiness and sweet oak. Not so much a finish, more of an encore.

Smells curiously of vegetable stock that's loaded with celery, onion, carrots and parsley; aroma becomes toasty with aeration as the grain finally emerges through the stock-like surface smell. Palate entry is grainy sweet and pleasantly dry and lean, even a touch austere; midpalate is prickly and acutely peppery. Ends toasty. - P.P.
