a' is short for "Casa": home. Located at the top of the Rabajà hill - Barbaresco's historical cru - the house overlooks an endless vista of gently sloping Langhe country. Since 1980, the winery of Romano Marengo is home to classic red wine-making and the very finest quality.
The vineyards' totalsurface is nown a little over 12 acres (5 hectares), partly located at Barbaresco, partly at Serralunga d'Alba, in Barolo territory. Romano personally styles the range, averaging 2.500 cases yearly (30.000 bottles).
He is flanked by son Giuseppe, an oenology graduate, and daughter Paola, in charge of p.r. and marketing.
