Auslese (which means "selected harvest" in German) wines are made from grapes that remain on the vine until extremely late in the year - as late as December. Hanging on the vine ensures individually selected overripe grapes, resulting in a full-bodied, luscious wine with hints of apricot, nectarine, and honey. The wine opens with stone fruit and floral aromas on the nose. Juicy mandarin orange and wild honey suckle notes develop with every sip. Our Auslese Riesling evolves with well-balanced minerality and a soft, lingering finish. Auslese can be enjoyed as a dessert wine or enjoy with ripe cheeses, baked fruit desserts, or richly seasoned entrees like red Thai curry or crab risotto.
